We are Berkshire Wilton Partners, LLC

MASTER BUILDERS.

Our philosophy has always been one of consultation and collaboration, working with Architects and Owners to realize their ideas.  It is only through a cooperative effort that draws on the collective expertise of a team that the truly exceptional is accomplished.

A FOCUS ON RESULTS.

At Berkshire Wilton Partners we are passionate about the art of building. We collaborate with the finest architects to custom construct new homes and renovate classic residences. By working closely with both owner and architect, we provide meticulous project management. The results are spectacular – unique homes with exquisite details.

WE DELIVER.

Our finished projects and the words of our clients are the best expressions of our work.  The greatest satisfaction is always a letter of thanks at the end of a project and the realization that a well-made building is a work of art.

OUR APPROACH

We founded Berkshire Wilton Partners on the premise that the sharing of ideas between members of a project team could produce a much better project, faster and more economically than the traditional model of separate design and construction roles. The dialogue gives the project a life which encourages exchange and understanding between owner, architect, and builder. The strength of our process is the foundation of not only great projects, but longstanding relationships with Clients and Architects. Our involvement during the development of a design allows us to help address constructability and cost issues early in the process. In unique designs, it often takes in depth discussions with suppliers and subcontractors to turn a concept into a built form. It is the process of discovery in the ongoing dialogue that produces the truly exceptional residence. New ideas always infuse architecture and building with a new approach and life. Sustainable architectural design is becoming essential in all types of buildings both traditional and modern, and it will be the foundation of many new projects. We encourage sustainability in all of our work and look for ways to promote more sustainable construction practices, such as reducing waste and recycling materials.

"Great design and great building are parts of the same discipline."

P.R.

"There is a universal knowledge of building that holds true for all styles. That knowledge comes from one thing—experience."

Modern Plaster Ceiling Vault

GFRG

Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum is one of the most innovative ceiling products we have used in the last several years.  Traditionally, vaults and other complicated vaulted ceiling structures had to be formed with a complicated steel channel and light gauge framing system suspended from pencil rods or wires.  The finish on top of the system was usually a time-consuming and heavy traditional plaster installation involving a scratch coat, brown coat and finish coat.  The work was long and involved.

Pool House Spray Foam

DSCN8575

Recently we have been involved in the renovation of a 30 year old pool house structure that needed to be reconstructed with modern mechanical systems and a better insulation system.  The existing insulation system in the building was a fiberglass batt system with little vapor control.  The system led to degradation of the wood structure that was used in combination with a steel framing.  In redesigning the envelope, the building consultant recommended a sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation system with a vapor barrier on top of the foam to establish a Class I vapor barrier.

The Website Launch

In the early years, clicking through all of the layers of a website was fairly novel and was a little like leafing through the papers in a file drawers, something we were once all very familiar with. It seemed like the way the web should be organized – logically, but not particularly efficient. I confess that
